Setting the Context

The Word & Brown General Agency set out to elevate their insurance quote and policy management experience to meet changing market expectations. Their goal was to equip brokers with faster, more intuitive tools that could handle complex calculations across multiple insurance products while improving overall usability and performance. The vision was a unified, modern platform that could support growth, flexibility, and long-term maintainability.

The Constraint

As product offerings expanded, quote creation required navigating multiple workflows to adjust plans, contributions, and pay periods. Reporting outputs were fixed, and onboarding new brokers required structured training due to the depth of functionality. While the technology foundation was stable, there was a clear opportunity to improve speed, responsiveness, and ease of use so brokers could make decisions faster and with greater confidence.

Our Delivery

Saguna Consulting partnered with Word & Brown to modernize their quote management platform with a clear focus on speed, accuracy, and day-to-day usability.

The platform leveraged Azure and Angular within a refined architecture, alongside a code-first approach using NgRx and RxJS to bring stronger state management and real-time responsiveness to the quoting workflow.

Using NgRx and RxJS within the quote platform enabled predictable state handling, improved performance during complex calculations, reduced unnecessary re-renders, and ensured real-time updates across plan selections and contribution changes. This allowed brokers to move through quotes smoothly without lag, even when handling multiple insurance products simultaneously.

The project was delivered under tight timelines, requiring strong collaboration, rapid decision-making, and disciplined execution across teams.
